Merchant's Shops and Eateries
As you may or may not be aware, the City of Cottleville has been working on a master plan for the Historic Old Town. During this process the City was approved by the National Parks Service as a Certified Local Government (CLG). The intent of the CLG is to encourage preservation of historic buildings, structures, objects and districts. There were a number of requirements that had to be met before participation could even be considered by the State Historic Preservation Office. Some of these include adopting an historic preservation ordinance, establishing a historic preservation commission, create and maintain a system for ongoing surveys and inventory, and provide for public participation in the local government program. Click on the link to the left for more information regarding the Certified Local Government program.
As mentioned above, we have been working on a master plan for the Old Town Cottleville area; this plan includes, but is not limited to, street connections, storm water drainage, sidewalks, parking, landscaping, lighting, wireless internet connection, and hopefully much more as time goes on.
Please click the following links or stop by City Hall for more information regarding the master plan along with the Hwy N Streetscape Enhancement project that runs through Historic Old Town and will include many of these exciting new features.
