The Board of Adjustment's responsibility is to consider variances - permission to modify the regulations of Title IV: Land Use of the Municipal Code - on a case-by-case basis. The Board consists of five members and up to three alternate members appointed by the Mayor to a 5 year term with the consent and approval of the Board of Aldermen.

The application to request a variance should be accompanied by 10 copies of the required submittal information. There is a $400.00 fee for a variance request. The appropriate fees must be submitted at the same time as the application. Any submittals larger than 8.5” x 11” must be folded. All submittals must be collated. Legal descriptions must also be supplied electronically.
