Cottleville offers a unique and poignant way to commemorate loved ones and special events through the gift of a tree or bench. Each gift is also an enduring way to support, beautify, and enhance a Cottleville Park by participating in the Cottleville Tree and Bench Commemorative Program. Program participants select either a tree or bench to be purchased through the City of Cottleville.

Participating Parks

City property sites for trees and benches may be limited in some areas; however, Cottleville Park locations may be available, such as:
Legacy Park, Hansen Park, Scott A. Lewis Park

Commemorative Trees

Participants can select flowering or shade trees. Commemorative trees are approximately 1.5-3 inches in caliper size and approximately 5-8 feet tall. A commemorative plaque or brick will be placed at the base of the tree. Cottleville approves and selects tree types and locations based on the planting needs of the selected park and the most appropriate site for the type of tree selected. Replacement trees will be honored once up to 1 year after planting under warranty. The City is under no obligation to replace the tree or plaque after initial installation.

Commemorative Benches

Commemorative benches are approximately 5-6-foot-long vinyl coated steel or black steel. Black, brown or green depends on the location. Cottleville approves and selects bench types and locations based on the needs of the selected park or area as well as the most appropriate style or type to bring continuity to the area and program. The City is under no obligation to replace the bench or plaque due to wear and tear, vandalism etc. after initial installation.

Special Requests

Special Requests may be indicated on the order form. While every effort will be made to honor these requests, it may not be possible to honor each and every request. If honoring a special request is contingent to participation, please contact the City of Cottleville staff to discuss the request prior to submitting the order form for processing. Please note you may not provide your own tree or bench.
